buddy & son

adj. [ iconoclastic ]

Overview

The Lower East Side has no shortage of places to see and be seen. But what happened to the neighborhood joint where the food hits, the drinks flow, and nobody’s trying too hard?

We developed the Buddy & Son brand strategy and identity, creating a look, voice, and personality as distinctive as the neighborhood it calls home. Come hungry. Leave a buddy.

Brand Strategy + Identity

A modern take on a vintage color palette and type joins custom illustrations to tell the story of the restaurant's namesake, Buddy, owner Jake Epstein's father. The brand connects three distinct threads: restaurant, cafe, and bar, welcoming guests to not only enjoy the food and drink, but also the buddies they meet along the way.
